American Studies taught me three major things. First, being
how our “pop culture” is so much different from the subcultures that surround
us every day, through the readings and class discussions. Second, this class
taught me how to effectively work in groups and individually, through different
projects and assignments. Third, this class taught me to be up to date with
current events and by doing so I can form my own educated opinions about
relevant topics going on. American Studies 100 showed me that combining
knowledge of different subcultures with current events can lead to a new
culture trend.
